Invitacion a jugar: bizcocho de lodo. /Invitation to play: mud cakes

Hola!

A mis chicas les encanta la naturaleza. Caminatas, picnics, mojarse en la lluvia, sembrar, buscar flores, jugar con tierra en el hermoso jardín de mama. Oh, espera. Ahí no. /My girls love the outdors. Nature walks, picnics, get wet when it’s raining, gardening, collect flowers, play with dirt in mommy’s beautiful garden… Oh wait, not there.

Si, hace unos días las encontré en el jardín con palas y cubitos  de Sofia The First y todo, sacando tierra y echándola por la acera. Soy muy pro-exploración, por lo que solo les dije: "Vamos a jugar en otra parte, recojan, barran y nos vemos en la parte de atrás de la casa cuando terminen" Todo en un tono calmado. / Yes, a few days ago, I found my garden with little shovels and Sofia The First buckets, getting soil all over the driveway. I am pro-exploration, so I told them: “Let’s go someplace else to play. Clean up, and find me at the back of the house, when you finished. All in a very calmed way.

Cuando llegamos al patio trasero, encontraron el cielo. 

When they get there, they found heaven.

De todo para hacer pasteles de tierra. Sus favoritos. / Everything for mud cake making. Their favorite.

Hace dos años cuando nos mudamos a aquí, conocimos a las vecinas perfectas: 3 chicas, homeschoolers, y de nuestras mismas creencias religiosas (Católica)  con esto ultimo no quiero decir que desprecie a personas de otras religiones, pero me agradaba tener conversaciones acerca de nuestras experiencias en la Iglesia y de como educar a nuestras hijas en la fe. Las chicas se llevaban de maravilla e incluso se pasaban debajo de la verja para jugar aca o alla. Una vez las invitaron a hacer pasteles de lodo. Quedaron maravilladas! / Two years ago, when we moved here, we met the perfect neighbors: 3 girls, homeschoolers, and from our same religious believes (Catholic), with that I don’t mean that we don’t respect other people believe, but I liked how we can share experiences and the way we raise our children.  The girls got along very quickly and easily (yes, we are not weird or antisocial). The even under our fence to play at our house or at theirs. At one of those playdates, they were invited to make mud cakes. They loved it!

Usamos: platos de papel ( de foam funcionan mejor, pero usamos lo que tenemos a la mano), tierra, agua, flores, plantas, piedras y crema de afeitar (frosting)./ We used: paper plates (foam paper works better, but we used what we had), soil, water, flowers, plants, rocks, shaving cream, and (frosting).

Para mi es muy importante que ese deseo de jugar afuera y buscar como entretenerse a si mismas, porque son habilidades que le sirven no solo ahora, si no que a lo largo de su vida./ To me is very important that they love to play outside, and know how to entertain themselves, because those are skills that will help them now and in the future.
